I don't think it's a joke. It was meant to make a quick buck during the election because people were under the very wrong assumption that Heinz ketchup was owned by Theresa Heinz-Kerry. From what I remember reading, Kerry's wife was married to a Heinz mogul who left her a bunch of money when he died, but she only owns a very small percentage of stock in the Heinz Company, and has absolutely nothing to do with running it.
