I see Paris I see France......

Well, I will in February.

Yep, going for a city break weekend in Paris on the 11th. I'm meeting my friend Karen, the London-living, knows all the best bars, knows the bartenders at most of them too, Karen. Her only drawback is that she is Canadian, eh?, but oh well, you can't have it all.

Just kidding.

Any recomendations on hotels or things to do over a long weekend?

  1. Across the street from the Eiffel Tower, towards The Seine, is a vendor selling freshly-made, warm Belgian Waffles dusted with powdered sugar. Pure magic!

As for a hotel, if money is no object, then the Four Seasons Hotel George V is the way to go (about $1000 US a night, or the price of two bananas in Oslo). If you don't want to spend quite that much, I recommend Hotel Langlois (which used to be Hotel de Croises until they changed the name to match what it was called in "The Truth About Charlie" movie!). I've stayed there twice, loved it, and think I paid under $100 US a night (http://www.hotel-langlois.com/en/index.html).

Incredibly jealous here... have a great trip!

  2. I am sooooo jealous! I haven't been to Paris since I was 17. We went to Versailles. I highly recommend it, but I don't remember how far it is from Paris.

  3. Ooh I can't wait to hear what staying in a hotel is like in Paris! When we were there a couple of weeks ago, we stayed in a hotel. It was..... well, everything you'd expect from a hostel. Yeeeah.
